I’m incredibly honored to have been invited to join the Trauma Therapist Podcast to talk about something I’m deeply passionate about: helping people understand that healing from trauma is possible.

One of the greatest privileges of my work is walking alongside people who have spent years believing they were “too broken,” “too anxious,” or “just wired this way.” The truth is, so many of the struggles people carry today are actually understandable responses to experiences that overwhelmed their nervous system.

During this conversation, we explored how trauma can quietly influence everyday life—even years after the original events have passed. We discussed why anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, and difficulty trusting yourself often have roots that extend far deeper than many people realize.

We also talked about one of my favorite topics: the incredible capacity of the brain and nervous system to heal. Recovery isn’t about pretending difficult experiences never happened. It’s about helping your mind and body learn that the danger has passed so you can begin living with greater confidence, connection, and peace.

Whether you’re navigating trauma, chronic stress, relationship patterns that keep repeating, or simply trying to better understand yourself, I hope this conversation reminds you that healing isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about reconnecting with the version of yourself that trauma may have hidden.

In this episode, we discuss:

• How trauma affects the nervous system

• Why anxiety is often more than “just worry”

• Common trauma responses that many people don’t recognize

• The role of EMDR and trauma-informed therapy in recovery

• Building healthier relationships and secure attachment

• Finding hope after difficult life experiences

If you’re curious about trauma recovery, EMDR therapy, nervous system regulation, or the healing process, I hope you’ll take a few moments to listen. My wish is that this conversation leaves you feeling informed, encouraged, and reminded that lasting healing is possible.
