I’m beyond honored to share that I’ve been featured in an interview with CanvasRebel, I had the chance to reflect on my journey as a private practice mental health therapist.
Becoming a mental health therapist wasn’t a straight line. Like many of you, my career path has been a tapestry of unexpected turns, moments of courage, and periods of self-discovery.
In the CanvasRebel interview, I share how I navigated the challenges of building a private practice, from overcoming self-doubt to embracing the vulnerability of showing up authentically for my clients. Each step taught me something new about resilience—not just my own, but the incredible resilience I see in the individuals and couples I work with every day.
The CanvasRebel interview also gave me a chance to reflect on the lessons that have shaped me as a therapist and as a person. Some of these were hard-won, like learning to trust my intuition in sessions or letting go of the need to “fix” everything for my clients. Others were about unlearning—shedding old beliefs that no longer served me, like the idea that I had to have all the answers or that vulnerability was a weakness.
Sharing my story with CanvasRebel was a chance to pull back the curtain on what it means to be a therapist—not just the techniques or training, but the heart and soul of this work. It’s about showing up fully, meeting clients where they are, and walking alongside them as they discover their own strength.
I invite you to dive into the full CanvasRebel interview to learn more about my journey, the stories that inspire me, and the lessons that continue to shape my practice. . It’s a celebration of the messy, beautiful, transformative work of healing—and I’m so grateful to share it with you.
